Guitar Learning Journey

Thanks to my life partner Jesenko Plecic, we have continued to embrace even more love of music by learning to play the guitar.

Habito Plecic Family Guitar Journey Throughout the Years

Our family has embraced music in various ways. I had no idea I would love playing the bass guitar until around March 2014. I started learning using a four-string ESP bass guitar. On November 13, 2015, Jesenko helped me choose the Yamaha TRBX305 5 String bass guitar through the Musician’s Friend store. We typically play music and learn using a PC through the Rocksmith Game application. It is difficult to describe how awesome it is to begin to understand how we strum the strings, learn the finger placement on the fret, and finally play cool songs.

P.S. I still consider myself an amateur. I am very good at playing the guitar via the Rocksmith game (hand and eye coordination with guidance.) I don’t play solo guitar yet! I have tried, but it is way too basic now without the Rocksmith game guiding me.

Things that you would want to be prepared to invest on below:

  • A good beginner guitar like ESP, great quality picks and strings, oil and learning supplies to keep the guitar in great condition, guitar stand, guitar bag or cover, instrument cable, guitar strap, and a good amp if you are solo playing.
  • It takes a bit of time to get used to playing the guitar. You will get callouses if you play more frequently and longer. We recommend Rocksmith because it is much easier to follow with the color designation of the strings, gives you tuning tips, creates profiles for each player, and you can master the song at your own pace and buy song collections via the Steam Online Game Service. Rocksmith is different from Guitar Hero. Rocksmith uses real instruments for you to connect, while Guitar Hero uses console devices.
  • The most important investment is your time and effort to want to learn a guitar. We do it for the joy of enjoying music, and it is fun to see varying ages of people join us in the learning experience.

My husband and I play songs from Linkin Park, Muse, Disturbed, Nightwish, No Doubt, Sum41, The Black Keys, Blink-182, Evanescence, System of a Down, Fall Out Boy, Rise Against, Green Day, AFI, Creed, Duran Duran, The Killers, Rise Against The Machine, Three Days Grace, Queens of the Stoneage and many more. This list gives you an idea of the Rocksmith songs available here.

We hope you find the opportunity to experience music differently and just have fun!
