Are you still asking yourself that question? “What do you want to be when you grow up?” This type of question is daunting and overwhelming to easily find an answer to. In my case, I still am asking this question today and I’m 45 years old as of May 15, 2022!

To add to our challenge, we follow up with the following questions:

  • Who am I?
  • Why am I here?
  • Am I needed?
  • Where do I belong?
  • Am I good enough?
  • What is happiness anyway?
  • What is love?

Over the years, the same theme keeps coming up when others ask me for advice.

  • Many feel alone in their struggle or life journey. Some stay silent, afraid to hurt or offend others. Others are too paralyzed to ask for help through trauma and being betrayed. Trusting others to be there for you when you need them and to be trusted by being accepted as they are fundamental needs.
  • There are patterns of behaviors that we either notice or do not notice in ourselves and others. We need to learn to identify if these patterns benefit us or not. We have to trust ourselves to accept that failure is part of growing up. That we become better people each day, by learning from our mistakes and sharing our lessons with others.
  • Letting go of perfectionism would help open up our hearts and minds. The process of letting go of past mistakes, forgiving ourselves, being grateful that we all matter in each other's lives are part of this complex and lifestyle experiment.

Why do I talk to you about the “Design Thinking Life Playbook?”

  • You are the author and master of your life. Be proud of who you are in the past, present, and future you want to be.
  • Reach your dreams by designing your life and defining your story. Try not to let others take away the will and power over you.
  • You will be okay and we are all going to be okay. You are not alone. Reach out and connect with others. The world is quite small and you would be surprised how many amazing and kind people there are when you seek them.

I’m honored and humbled to have met many kind people who share their stories with me in my podcast: Vitamae Design Thinking Life Playbook

P.S. Life is never-ending experimentation. We all have to iterate and in time we hope to be the person we want to be. To be proud of who we are and to find our own happiness.
